About The Position
We are investing heavily in machine learning at Divvy.  Next year, we are increasing the number of data scientists working on our cross-functional development teams and also the infrastructure needed to continuously deliver machine learning models that improve the experience of using Divvy.  You will have the opportunity to help architect our machine learning infrastructure and work with product managers to identify analytical areas of growth, create customer-facing machine learning models, and show that value with A/B testing.
Additionally, team members collaborate with Product leadership to identify high-impact opportunities, define analytical roadmaps, and help drive toward those opportunities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing, implementing and delivering machine learning models in a production AWS environment to enhance our application (using Python’s machine learning libraries, SageMaker, Kafka, SeldonCore, Snowflake, Git, GitLab CI/CD, Splunk, etc.)
  • Apply your expertise in deep learning, quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers to increase revenue and improve our competitive position
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities with machine learning
  • Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches

Qualifications

  • You have 5+ years of experience in a Data Science role solving high-impact business problems and a demonstrated track-record of high-impact projects in production
  • You have a Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (Statistics, Computer Science, etc.)
  • You have strong programming skills (Python or similar)
  • You have experience working with Product leaders and technical decision-making (A/B testing, project prioritization, development, and monitoring)
  • You have experience translating and presenting technical results to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
  • You are a creative problem-solver, who proactively finds and identifies simple solutions to challenging, open-ended problems

Bonus Points

  • You have a doctorate degree in a quantitative or technical field (Statistics, Computer Science, etc.)
  • You have experience working as a Data Scientist at a technology or fin-tech company
  • You have led model development/deployments with AWS Sage-maker and other AWS services
