Responsibilities

  • Assist in internal controls and policies to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and best practices in coordination with the internal audit team
  • Develop and oversee new accounting processes including for new revenue streams
  • Draft footnotes and disclosures in SEC filing documents and document technical accounting research results as well as accounting policies
  • Assist in the research of new accounting guidance and assess implications to the company and then appropriately communicate how it affects the Company
  • Draft and maintain company accounting policies
  • Partner/collaborate with accounting/finance personnel and other business leaders to build and enhance awareness of various accounting requirements
  • Interact with cross-functional teams within the company and treat the cross-functional partners as customers
  • Work closely with external auditors in quarterly reviews and year end audits
  • Perform periodic evaluation and calculation of key corporate accounting estimates to be included in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assist in month, quarter, and annual financial close processes
  • Undertake special projects and support company initiatives, as needed

Qualifications

  • CPA required
  • You have a deep understanding of accounting fundamentals, technical accounting, and SOX requirements
  • For you, organizational accountability is personal. You deliver at the highest level in order to close the books every month, complete audits, and help leaders make informed decisions. You make accurate entries the first time.
  • You are not afraid to speak up when things look amiss.
  • You have 4+ years of public accounting audit experience with a national accounting firm performing integrated audits of public companies (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, Grant Thornton, RSM, BDO)
  • You meet tight deadlines and handle competing priorities, while maintaining accuracy of information and attention to detail
  • Experience with leading and mentoring a team
  • You know how to delegate within a team while at the same time you’re ready to be an individual contributor
  • You have previously worked in FinTech/Banking or Financial Services (preferred)
